About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Python Engineer to contribute to a commercially funded open-source project. You will be developing tools that enable organizations building safety-critical software (cars, planes, medical equipment, etc.) to adopt modern development practices. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll design and implement Python-based solutions that integrate functional safety (FuSa) processes into modern DevOps pipelines, enabling automated safety compliance validation throughout the development lifecycle. The successful candidate will demonstrate not only strong technical capabilities but also a methodical, thorough approach to software development where reliability, correctness, and traceability are paramount.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design and develop Python-based components for our continuous compliance framework
β’ Build integrations between existing safety analysis tools and CI/CD pipelines
β’ Implement robust verification mechanisms for safety-critical software artifacts
β’ Create evidence generation and traceability solutions for compliance workflows
β’ Design reliable cross-language integrations where needed (Java, C/C++)
β’ Develop comprehensive automated testing to validate tool correctness
Required Qualifications
β’ 5+ years of professional Python development experience
β’ Must have your own company and EIN number - not 3rd party employers
β’ Experience designing and implementing command-line tools and integrations
β’ Strong understanding of software architecture principles
β’ Experience with comprehensive testing and validation methodologies
β’ Knowledge with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
β’ Knowledge of cross-language integration techniques
β’ Experience with logging, audit trails, and evidence generation
