Senior Python Developer

Provn is hiring a Senior Python Developer for a contract role supporting a Global Supervisory and Surveillance application inside a front office banking environment. This is hands-on engineering work with real ownership across monthly release cycles. Comp: $73.69/hr. Onsite in Jersey City, NJ. Contract. This role sits at the intersection of internal platform development and financial compliance. You'll build and maintain the applications that front office banking teams rely on, resolve audit-related compliance items, and contribute to quantitative research and data analysis across the platform. It's a good seat for a senior engineer who likes living close to the business domain and wants technical ownership without layers of process. What you'll be doing: • Designing, developing, and maintaining internal platform applications for front office banking • Owning technical tasks end to end across monthly release cycles • Working across the full stack, including REST APIs and ReactJS • Contributing to the resolution of audit-related compliance items • Running quantitative research and development with domain-specific data analysis • Working with both object databases and relational databases What we're looking for: • 5+ years of hands-on object-oriented programming experience with strong Python proficiency • 3+ years as a senior developer on front office banking applications • 3+ years of quantitative research and development with domain-specific data analysis • 3+ years of REST, ReactJS, or full-stack development experience • Experience working with both object databases and relational databases • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field • Bonus points for knowledge of fixed income products, 2+ years in risk and pricing application development, experience with trade surveillance and market misconduct in global markets, and subject matter expertise in financial services internal platforms Must be authorized to work in the US.
