Senior Python Engineer - 12 Month

A top tier banking client is in need of an Senior Python engineer who builds the machinery behind enterprise data management: the information models, rules, catalogs and services that keep vast financial datasets accurate, traceable and ready for scrutiny. This is a hands on build role, not an advisory seat. You will write production Python every day, design information models, configure and extend an enterprise data catalogue platform, and ship validation frameworks and integration services that the wider organisation depends on, working with a modern tool chain where AI assisted development is standard practice. What we are looking for: • A substantial Python engineering background, around ten years of professional, hands on development • Real ownership of an enterprise data catalogue or metadata platform, for example Collibra, Alation or Informatica: designing the models, configuring the platform and making it work for the business, not just using it. • Schema driven development: building validated data structures, service interfaces and automation in modern Python frameworks • Experience in banking or another heavily regulated environment where data accuracy and traceability carry real consequences Glasgow based, hybrid working.
