Contract Duration: 4 months Worksite Location: Remote Compensation: $75.00 - $120.00 per hour What you ll do as the Sr. Python Engineer: • Refactor and modernize Python microservices that provision and manage storage infrastructure • Improve service stability, performance, and maintainability • Add critical unit, integration, and functional test coverage • Enhance logging, metrics, and monitoring for stronger observability • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments • Diagnose and resolve production issues quickly in partnership with engineering teams • Communicate technical decisions and progress clearly in a collaborative environment What you ll bring to the Sr. Python Engineer role: • 7+ years of experience with Python 3 in production-grade services • Proven success building and maintaining microservices and REST APIs (Flask, FastAPI, or similar) • Strong skills with testing and CI/CD pipelines (pytest, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Vela, etc.) • Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts (Redis/queues, retries, idempotency, failover handling) • Proficiency with Postgres and SQLAlchemy ORM • Fluency with Docker and familiarity with Kubernetes/TAP deployments • A testing-first mindset with the ability to stabilize and improve existing codebases • Strong debugging skills across Redis, Postgres, and API layers • Bonus experience with enterprise storage systems, hybrid cloud APIs, and observability tools • A pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach that balances best practices with delivering impact quickly As an equal opportunity employer, Dahl Consulting welcomes candidates of all backgrounds and experiences to apply.
