Senior Sapio LIMS Developer Remote - US Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire Experience Level: Senior (5+ years LIMS, 2+ years Sapio) Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Sapio Developer to help us evolve our Sapio platform in support of company growth and the consequential increase in laboratory throughput. This role is not about starting from scratch; it is about building on and optimizing an existing ecosystem. You will inherit a development backlog and partner with IT and the business to prioritize enhancements, troubleshoot Velox rules, and ensure digital infrastructure keeps pace with clinical innovation. Key Responsibilities • Backlog Execution: Transform a prioritized backlog of business requirements into production-ready features within the Sapio Velox framework. • System Optimization: Conduct deep-dive audits of existing Java plugins and Python scripts to improve system latency and user experience. • Workflow Refinement: Partner with Lab Operations to optimize existing diagnostic workflows and reduce manual data entry. • Integration Maintenance: Manage and expand integrations between Sapio and diagnostic instruments, EMRs, and other downstream systems. • Release Management: Own the CI/CD pipeline for the LIMS, ensuring that updates are validated and deployed with the goal of zero disruption to clinical testing. • Technical Documentation: Reverse-engineer and document undocumented "Day 1" configurations to ensure long-term system maintainability. Technical Qualifications • Platform Expertise: 2+ years of direct experience configuring Sapio Sciences (Velox). Must be comfortable with Form Designer, Workflow Architect, and Rule Logic. • Software Engineering: Strong proficiency in Java (for plugin development) and Python/SQL. • API Mastery: Proven experience working with RESTful APIs to connect LIMS with external diagnostic ecosystems. • Diagnostics Background: Experience in a regulated lab environment (CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, or GxP). You understand why validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) is non-negotiable. • Agile Mindset: Experience working in a sprint-based environment where you can estimate effort accurately and hit deadlines. • Great to Have: Experience with Mirth and the HL7 framework and standards.
