Role description
Position Title: Senior Snowflake Database Administrator
Location: Jersey City, NJ/Houston, TX / Woodland Hills CA.
Note:- I Need Snowflake Database Administrator Not Data Engineer
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for 8+ years of administrator experience in Snowflake/PostgreSQL/Cassandra Databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our Snowflake data warehouse environment. You will provide 24/7 production support, troubleshoot issues, monitor system health, optimize performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain a reliable and efficient Snowflake platform.
Technical Skills:
β’ Proven experience as a Snowflake/PostgreSQL/Cassandra Databases Administrator or similar role in production support environments.
β’ Strong knowledge of Snowflake architecture, features, and best practices.
β’ Expertise in SQL and performance tuning of complex queries.
β’ Experience with Snowflake data sharing, cloning, time travel, and zero-copy cloning.
β’ Familiarity with data security concepts and role-based access control in Snowflake.
β’ Understanding of ETL/ELT tools and data integration patterns.
β’ Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Snowflake native monitoring, third-party tools).
β’ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
β’ Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
β’ Ability to work in a 24/7 support rotation and handle urgent production issues.
β’ In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security and monitoring)
β’ Strong understanding of relational database concepts.
β’ Experience with database design, modeling, and optimization is good to have
β’ Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and developing stored procedures.
β’ Familiarity with data security is the best practice and backup procedures.
Responsibilities
β’ Production Support & Incident Management:
β’ Provide timely support for Snowflake-related incidents and service requests. Monitor alerts, investigate root causes, and resolve issues to minimize downtime.
β’ Performance Monitoring & Tuning:
β’ Monitor Snowflake workloads, query performance, and resource utilization. Implement optimization techniques such as query tuning, warehouse resizing, and clustering to enhance efficiency.
β’ Data Security & Compliance:
β’ Manage access controls, roles, and permissions in Snowflake. Ensure data security policies and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) are adhered to.
β’ Backup & Recovery:
β’ Develop and maintain data backup, restore, and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
β’ Collaboration & Documentation:
β’ Work closely with data engineers, developers, and business users to understand requirements and support data workflows. Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and runbooks for operational procedures.
β’ Automation & Process Improvement:
β’ Develop automation scripts and tools to improve deployment, monitoring, and maintenance processes.
β’ Capacity Planning:
β’ Analyze trends in data growth and resource usage to forecast and plan capacity needs.
Qualification:
β’ Somebody who has at least 8+ years of experience in Snowflake/PostgreSQL/Cassandra Databases Administrator.
β’ Education qualification: Any degree from a reputed college
