Role description
Senior SQL / Data Modeller – Analytics, Global Data Platform (Remote – Occasional Travel to Heathrow)
We’re looking for an experienced SQL / Data Modeller to take the lead in shaping how data is modelled, structured, and delivered across global Finance and HR domains. This is a decision-making role where you’ll own data design principles, ensure quality and consistency, and support multiple teams as the go-to data expert.
Location: Remote (occasional travel to client site near Heathrow)
• £500-£550pd
• Outside IR35
• 6months engagement
What You’ll Do
• Lead the design and implementation of robust SQL data models, focusing on dimensional and semantic modelling
• Build and maintain slowly changing dimensions (Type 1, 2, etc.) to enable accurate historical reporting
• Conduct data profiling and transformation to improve data reliability and usability across the global platform
• Collaborate with Data Architects and Engineers to integrate models within Snowflake, Oracle, and AWS environments
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, high-performing data structures
• Document and maintain business rules, data quality checks, and transformation logic
• Provide clear guidance on data best practices and drive adoption across Finance and HR teams
What You’ll Bring
• Be a Senior / Lead on the project – making key decisions
• Expert-level SQL skills - able to design, optimise, and troubleshoot complex queries at scale
• Proven experience with data modelling and dimensional design, including SCD implementation
• Proficiency in ERWIN, Sparx EA, or similar data modelling tools
• Strong background in data warehousing and analytics engineering using platforms such as Snowflake, Oracle, or PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with AWS, Power BI/Tableau, and modern ELT/ETL workflows
• Ability to document and communicate data flows, CRUD matrices, and data lineage clearly
• Comfortable working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments, balancing speed with rigour
