Job Title: Senior SQL Developer (MS Access/VBA) β ERP/Database Modernization
Location: Tampa, FL (Hybrid)
Duration: 12-18 Month Contract
Interview Type: Video
Sponsorship: Open
Role Overview
The Senior SQL Developer will be responsible for stabilizing and modernizing a legacy SnapShot application built on MS Access 2003/VBA with a SQL Server back end. This role involves reverse engineering legacy logic, designing modern SQL-centric data flows, and developing integrations that connect the current Access-based ERP environment with the Infor ecosystem. The primary focus is delivering the first integration, followed by a multi-phase modernization roadmap, including planning for a future S4 migration.
Key Responsibilities
Reverse engineer, read, and develop MS Access 2003/VBA code; analyze and document ~100k lines of legacy logic and workflows.
Stabilize critical functions within the legacy SnapShot application.
Design and implement SQL Server schemas (~500 fields, including ~100 Q&A fields) to support modernized workflows.
Build robust ETL/data ingestion pipelines for parsing output files and loading them into SQL databases.
Automate validation, reconciliation, and data quality processes.
Design and implement integrations with the Infor system through APIs, bridge tables, and orchestrations
Maintain on-prem SQL Server performance: indexing, query tuning, statistics, transactional integrity, and isolation levels.
Establish coding standards, version control practices, and technical documentation for both legacy and modern systems.
Implement unit and integration test harnesses.
Collaborate with business teams (estimators, dealers) to translate legacy rules into modern data structures and testable specifications.
Support planning for the S4 migration by mapping dependencies, defining cutover strategies, and developing rollback procedures.
Ensure secure handling of ERP data, including authentication, role-based access, and auditing.
Plan for continued on-prem operation over multiple years before any cloud transition.
