Role description
Position: Senior SQL Developer Location: Remote (Preferred near a major city for occasional onsite visits) Duration: Long-term Contract (Potential to Convert) Job Summary: We are looking for a hands-on Senior SQL Developer to support a QA team focused on backend automation and validation of complex software processes. This role involves reading code, understanding system flows, and testing through robust SQL development. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and experienced in working in senior-level, fast-paced environments with minimal documentation. Must-Have Skills: • Strong SQL Server expertise • SQL profiling, stored procedures, and backend automation • ETL development and Data Warehousing • SSIS, SSRS, and Redgate tools • Understanding of different file formats • Jira and Agile/Sprint familiarity • Minimum of 8–10 years as a hands-on individual contributor Responsibilities: • Develop complex SQL queries for testing and backend validation • Analyze code and system logic to derive test cases without documentation • Build and maintain ETL processes using SSIS • Collaborate closely with a highly experienced QA/dev team • Troubleshoot performance issues using SQL profiling tools • Participate in Agile sprints and contribute to test coverage and automation strategy
