Senior Tableau Developer

Senior Tableau Developer Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Tableau Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level Tableau dashboards, reports, and business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server/Cloud, SQL, and data visualization best practices. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into reporting solutions, and deliver high-quality dashboards that support operational and strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Tableau dashboards, reports, and interactive data visualizations. • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements and convert them into scalable reporting and analytics solutions. • Develop workflow metrics, KPIs, scorecards, and executive dashboards to support business operations. • Integrate, validate, and analyze data from multiple enterprise applications, relational databases, and data warehouses. • Write efficient SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting. • Optimize Tableau dashboard performance, usability, and data accuracy. • Troubleshoot and resolve reporting, visualization, and data quality issues. • Ensure adherence to data visualization standards and business intelligence best practices. • Create technical documentation, user guides, and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams. • Support ongoing application enhancements, maintenance, and business intelligence initiatives. • Collaborate with technical teams, business users, and project stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle. • Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support activities. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience). • 8+ years of experience developing and maintaining Tableau dashboards and enterprise reporting solutions. • Strong expertise with Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Cloud. • Extensive experience in dashboard design, data modeling, calculations, parameters, filters, and performance optimization. • Strong SQL skills with experience working on relational databases. • Experience integrating and validating data from enterprise systems and data warehouses. • Strong understanding of data visualization principles, KPI development, scorecards, and business intelligence reporting. • Ability to gather and document business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Preferred Qualifications • Experience working in government or other highly regulated environments. • Experience supporting workflow analysis, process improvement, and operational reporting. • Familiarity with ETL processes and enterprise data warehouse concepts. • Experience with performance tuning and Tableau administration is a plus.
