Senior WMS / Informix 4GL Developer

Job Title : Senior WMS/Informix 4GL Developer Location: USA(Remote) We are seeking a Senior WMS / Informix 4GL Developer to support and enhance warehouse and supply chain applications in a retail grocery distribution environment. The role focuses on warehouse operations, inventory management, and order fulfillment systems, utilizing Informix 4GL and Informix Database within a Warehouse Management System (WMS) platform such as EXE or similar systems. Key Responsibilities Provide production support and maintenance for Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Develop and enhance applications using Informix 4GL Write, optimize, and maintain Informix database queries and stored procedures Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in warehouse and supply chain systems Support inventory management, order processing, and store replenishment workflows Work closely with distribution center operations and business users Perform data analysis and system performance tuning Participate in system upgrades, testing, and deployments Ensure data integrity, system availability, and reliability Support integrations with ERP, POS, and retail systems Required Skills/Technical Skills Strong experience in Informix 4GL development Strong knowledge of Informix Database (SQL, performance tuning) Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as EXE or similar Experience in Unix/Linux environments Knowledge of batch processing, shell scripting, and job scheduling Domain Skills Experience in Warehouse Management and Supply Chain systems Strong understanding of: Inventory management Order fulfillment (picking, packing, shipping) Distribution center operations Store replenishment processes Preferred Skills Experience in Retail or Grocery supply chain environments Experience with WMS integrations (ERP, POS, merchandising systems) Knowledge of APIs, EDI, or middleware tools Exposure to system modernization or cloud platforms (AWS preferred) Soft Skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced environments Good communication and stakeholder collaboration Ability to handle production support and critical issues Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
