Server Side Developer (Contract to Hire - W2)

Server-Side Developer (Contract-to-Hire) Location: Northern New Jersey (Hybrid - Onsite/Remote flexibility) Type: Contract-to-Hire (C2H) - W2 role Duration: 6-12 months contract, with potential conversion to Full-Time Role Overview We are seeking a skilled Server-Side Developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Python to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience building scalable backend systems, APIs, and integrations that power enterprise-grade applications. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain server-side applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Python. • Build and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices for scalability and performance. • Collaborate with front-end engineers, QA, and product managers to deliver robust solutions. • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices. • Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration pipelines. • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring system reliability. Required Skills & Qualifications • 5+ years of professional backend/server-side development experience. • Strong proficiency in Java (Core & Advanced), Spring Boot framework. • Hands-on experience with Python for backend services, scripting, or data processing. • Solid understanding of REST APIs, microservices architecture, and distributed systems. • Experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and ORM frameworks. • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization tools (a plus). • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Agile methodologies. Nice to Have • Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP. • Exposure to message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.). • Familiarity with DevOps practices and monitoring tools.
