About the Role
We are seeking a SharePoint & Data Solutions Specialist to support the design, configuration, and rollout of an enterprise platform for managing engineering standards, technical documentation, and operational data.
This role blends SharePoint expertise with data integration and reporting skills, enabling the centralization of critical documentation, automation of workflows, and delivery of actionable insights through dashboards and analytics.
The ideal candidate brings strong Microsoft 365 knowledge, paired with experience in database querying, ETL, and BI visualization tools. You will also partner with stakeholders across engineering, IT, and operations to ensure long-term usability and adoption of the platform.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, configure, and manage SharePoint Online applications for document management, collaboration, and workflow automation.
• Lead the migration of existing content into a centralized SharePoint hub with intuitive navigation, permissions, and mobile accessibility.
• Implement document governance policies including version control, retention, and approval workflows.
• Integrate SharePoint with other Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, Power Automate, OneDrive) and, where applicable, with enterprise systems.
• Develop dashboards and reports (Power BI, Tableau, or Looker) to visualize KPIs and operational data.
• Build and manage ETL pipelines (Power Query, Alteryx, Azure Data Factory, etc.) to automate data flows into reporting systems.
• Provide end-user training and documentation for long-term platform adoption.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure the platform supports technical documentation needs and compliance standards.
Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of SharePoint Online experience, including migrations, governance, and customization.
• Strong knowledge of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Teams, Power Automate, Power Apps, OneDrive).
• Proficiency in SQL querying and data modeling concepts.
• Proven experience building dashboards with Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Familiarity with ETL and data integration tools (Power Query, Alteryx, Azure Data Factory).
• Strong communication skills for engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability, including troubleshooting data issues and resolving workflow challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in utilities, energy, or engineering-heavy industries.
• Microsoft 365 or SharePoint certifications.
• Exposure to integrating SharePoint with systems such as GIS, SCADA, or asset management platforms.
