β’ The Mechanical Engineering group uses SharePoint as a key tool for project tracking, list management, and inter-department collaboration. Engineers and managers enter data through input pages and forms, with Power BI used for reporting.
The teamβs SharePoint environment was originally set up internally, but with the migration to SharePoint Online, updates and enhancements are needed. Support from central IT is not available, and ownership of the environment remains within the engineering group, but there is limited bandwidth to manage the transition and optimization. This role will provide dedicated support to update, customize, and improve the teamβs SharePoint Online environment. If the effort is successful, there may be opportunities to expand the assignment to other groups within the organization.
Responsibilities
β’ Update existing SharePoint pages to work in the new SharePoint Online environment
β’ Customize and enhance existing pages for usability and functionality
β’ Improve the overall layout, design, and user experience
β’ Collaborate with engineering staff to identify opportunities for optimization
β’ Build or modify workflows to streamline team efficiency
β’ Explore additional SharePoint features while maintaining system upgradability
β’ Integrate Power BI reporting where applicable
Required Skills & Experience
β’ Strong hands-on experience with SharePoint Online development
β’ Proficiency with Power BI for reporting and dashboards
β’ SQL skills for data management and integration
β’ Ability to gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into technical solutions
