Job Title: Smartsheet Business SME Location: Remote Duration: 6 months contract Overview We are seeking a hands-on Smartsheet Business SME to design, build, and optimize enterprise-grade Smartsheet solutions across complex workflows, programs, and integrations. This is not a “sheet builder” role — we need someone who understands how businesses actually run and can translate messy operations into clean, scalable systems. You will own Smartsheet architecture end-to-end: design, build, automate, integrate, and harden. What You’ll Do • Architect & Build Smartsheet Solutions • Design scalable structures using Sheets, Reports, Dashboards, WorkApps, Forms, Dynamic View, and Control Center (SCC) • Build multi-project, multi-program rollups and executive reporting layers • Workflow Automation & Process Design • Implement approval flows, alerts, update requests, and conditional logic • Translate business rules into automation — no duct tape solutions • Smartsheet Control Center (SCC) • Design blueprints, provisioning workflows, and lifecycle management for programs and portfolios • Integrations & Data Flows • Build and maintain integrations using Smartsheet APIs, webhooks, and middleware (Zapier, Workato, Power Automate, etc.) • Integrate with tools like Jira, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Power BI, SharePoint, and Google Workspace • Migrations & Data Strategy • Migrate from Excel, MS Project, Asana, Monday, Jira, or legacy PM tools into Smartsheet • Handle data cleansing, schema mapping, and validation • Governance & Performance • Design workspace strategy, permissions models, and naming conventions • Optimize for performance, scale, and audit readiness • Stakeholder Leadership • Run working sessions with business leaders • Translate vague requirements into concrete solutions • Push back when something is dumb (politely, but firmly) What We’re Looking For Required • 4+ years of hands-on Smartsheet experience in real production environments • Deep expertise with: • Sheets, Reports, Dashboards, WorkApps, Forms • Smartsheet Control Center (SCC) • Cross-sheet formulas, data modeling, and automation • Proven experience designing PMO / Program / Portfolio solutions in Smartsheet • Strong understanding of business operations (PMO, ops, compliance, delivery, etc.) • Experience with Smartsheet API and integrations • Excellent communication — you can speak both “exec” and “engineer” Strong Plus • Smartsheet Core Product or Professional Certification • Experience in regulated or enterprise environments (HIPAA, SOC2, SOX, etc.) • Python, Node.js, or .NET for automation and integration services • Power BI / Tableau reporting layered on Smartsheet data • Large-scale rollouts (500+ users)
