Role description
We are looking for a highly skilled and self-motivated Smartsheets Technical Consultant to help us transition complex data workflows from Excel to Smartsheets, build sophisticated dashboards, and integrate data from other platforms. This role is primarily technical, focusing on leveraging Smartsheets’ features to automate processes, visualize data, and improve workflow efficiency. The ideal candidate is an expert in Smartsheets, experienced in data integration and automation, and comfortable translating stakeholder needs into practical Smartsheets solutions. Key Responsibilities: Dashboard Creation and Data Visualization β€’ Design and implement interactive dashboards within Smartsheets to visualize key data insights. β€’ Utilize advanced Smartsheets features like cell linking, cross-sheet references, and formulas to replicate complex Excel functionalities. β€’ Produce data visuals and graphs, ensuring they are accurate, user-friendly, and tailored to business needs. Excel to Smartsheets Migration β€’ Translate complex Excel workbooks, including formulas, macros, and pivot tables, into Smartsheets, ensuring functionality and data integrity. β€’ Identify manual processes suitable for automation and design Smartsheets workflows to streamline these tasks. Smartsheets Automation and Workflow Optimization β€’ Develop and implement Smartsheets automation rules to replace manual tasks and improve operational efficiency. β€’ Leverage Smartsheets’ automation features (e.g., triggers, notifications) to facilitate seamless workflow management. β€’ Document and communicate the new Smartsheets processes for users, ensuring a smooth transition. System Integration and Data Connectivity β€’ Integrate Smartsheets with other systems (such as Tableau, Jira, or Google BigQuery) to ensure real-time data flows and consistency across platforms. β€’ Maintain data accuracy in cross-platform integrations, using API connections or third-party tools as needed. β€’ Identify Smartsheets API limitations and propose workarounds for integration challenges, enabling data-sharing with external platforms. Process Improvement & Stakeholder Collaboration β€’ Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand current processes, and translate needs into Smartsheets solutions. β€’ Document existing workflows and design improved automated solutions, ensuring that new systems align with business objectives. β€’ Provide thought leadership in Smartsheets best practices and make recommendations for optimizing workflows and automation. Required Qualifications: β€’ Smartsheets Expertise: Proven experience creating and managing dashboards and workflows in Smartsheets, with strong knowledge of Smartsheets’ features, limitations, and API capabilities. β€’ Excel Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Excel formulas, macros, and pivot tables, and the ability to translate them into Smartsheets solutions. β€’ Data Integration Skills: Experience integrating Smartsheets with other platforms, particularly with Tableau and Jira, to enhance reporting and data accuracy. β€’ Visualization Skills: Ability to design effective data visuals within Smartsheets, translating complex data into accessible and actionable insights. β€’ Automation & Workflow Optimization: Hands-on experience building automations in Smartsheets to streamline manual processes. β€’ APIs and Webhooks Familiarity: Understanding of APIs, webhooks, and RESTful services for creating custom data flows between Smartsheets and external platforms. Preferred Qualifications: β€’ Experience with Business Intelligence Tools: Familiarity with Tableau or Power BI for enhanced data visualization and reporting. β€’ SQL and/or Python: Basic SQL or Python skills for data transformation prior to Smartsheets imports (helpful but not required). β€’ Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to work around technical limitations in Smartsheets or other integrated platforms to deliver effective solutions. β€’ Documentation and Training Skills: Skilled in documenting new processes and providing user guidance for stakeholders unfamiliar with Smartsheets.
