• Person will be crucial for driving data governance, ensuring metadata accuracy, and bridging the gap between technical data and business context. They curate, certify, and maintain data assets, while defining business terms, lineage, and data quality rules within the platform to promote trust and accessibility.
Core Roles and Responsibilities:
• Metadata Curation & Enrichment: Defining, reviewing, and approving business terms, definitions, and technical metadata within the catalog to provide semantic context.
• Data Stewardship & Certification: Actively certifying data assets (tables, columns, reports) to signify trustworthiness for authorized users.
• Lineage & Relationship Mapping: Reviewing and validating technical data lineage, ensuring accurate mapping from source systems to end-user reports.
• Data Governance & Compliance: Supporting GDPR and other policies by classifying sensitive data and documenting its usage, ensuring it is secure and compliant.
• Collaboration: Acting as the liaison between business stakeholders and IT to resolve data quality issues and define data requirements.
• Tool Expertise: Leveraging EDC/CDGC features like data profiling, similarity recommendations, and search to improve data discoverability.
Key Responsibilities in the Catalog Tool:
• Assigning Roles: Associating themselves or others as data owners/stewards to specific assets in the catalog UI.
• Managing Change Requests: Receiving, reviewing, and approving change requests related to data definitions.
• Providing Context: Associating technical data with business glossary terms to enable business-friendly search and discovery.
• set up domains, implement role-based authentication controls, and similar tasks We have scanned a lot of meta data into the catalog
