Role description
Snowflake Architect Location: Arlington, VA and Boston, MA and Florham Park, NJ(Hybid) Must Have: Wealth Management Domain Recent Snowflake Architecture Experience. Job Description Job Description: The ideal candidate should have 15+ years of experience with a strong background in Snowflake architecture, SQL optimization, data warehousing, cloud data platforms, and enterprise data strategy. Additionally, they should possess leadership experience and the ability to provide technical guidance and architectural oversight. Key Responsibilities: Design and architect enterprise-scale Snowflake data warehouse solutions, including database schemas, data models, and multi-cluster warehouses Experience of implementing Data Vault on Snowflake is highly desirable Develop Snowflake best practices for performance optimization, cost management, and resource allocation Implement advanced Snowflake features including Time Travel, Zero Copy Cloning, data sharing, and secure data exchanges Design and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions specifically for Snowflake's unique architecture Architect data integration strategies using Snowflake's native connectors, Snowpipe, and external stages Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for Snowflake performance issues and implement optimization strategies Lead and mentor data engineering teams on Snowflake development, providing architectural guidance and best practices Design and implement scalable ELT/ETL pipelines leveraging Snowflake's cloud-native capabilities Establish data governance frameworks including role-based access control (RBAC), data classification, and compliance monitoring Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable Snowflake data architecture solutions Implement Snowflake security best practices including network policies, encryption, and data masking Required Technical Skills: Expert-level Snowflake knowledge including SnowSQL, Snowsight, and Snowflake APIs Strong understanding of Snowflake's unique architecture (virtual warehouses, storage layers, cloud services) Experience with Snowflake data loading techniques (Snowpipe, bulk loading, continuous data ingestion) Proficiency in advanced SQL and stored procedures optimized for Snowflake Knowledge of Snowflake's ecosystem including partner tools and third-party integrations Preferred Qualifications: Snowflake certifications (SnowPro Core, Advanced Architect, or Data Engineer) Experience with dbt (data build tool) for transformation workflows in Snowflake Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, or Java for Snowflake UDFs and stored procedures Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker connected to Snowflake Understanding of DataOps and CI/CD practices for Snowflake development Knowledge of Snowflake's data marketplace and external data integration
