Job Details: Job Title: Senior Lead – Snowflake Engineer Location: Alpharetta GA (Onsite role) Duration: 12 months Contract Role Summary Client is Looking for a strong Snowflake candidate with SAP exp Job Description: Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Senior Lead – Snowflake Engineer to lead the design, development, implementation, and optimization of cloud-based data solutions using Snowflake. The role requires strong hands-on technical expertise in Snowflake, SQL, Python, data warehousing, ETL/ELT, data integration, security, and performance optimization. The Senior Lead will work closely with business, data, and technology teams to understand requirements, develop scalable data solutions, lead technical delivery, and provide hands-on guidance to the engineering team. Key Responsibilities • Lead the development and implementation of scalable and highly available data solutions using Snowflake. • Design and implement logical and physical data models, including databases, schemas, tables, views, and virtual warehouses. • Develop and optimize data ingestion and transformation pipelines into Snowflake from structured and unstructured data sources. • Work with data formats including CSV, JSON, Parquet, and XML. • Develop and maintain Snowflake objects including Streams, Tasks, Snowpipe, Stored Procedures, Materialized Views, and Dynamic/External data sharing solutions as required. • Implement Snowflake security using RBAC, user and role management, data access controls, and data masking. • Configure and optimize virtual warehouses, resource monitors, clustering, query performance, and overall Snowflake utilization. • Implement Snowflake capabilities such as Time Travel, Zero-Copy Cloning, Data Sharing, and Fail-safe. • Monitor Snowflake usage and help optimize compute and storage costs based on workload requirements. • Develop complex SQL queries and perform data validation, reconciliation, and data quality checks. • Work with Python, SQL, DBT, and other data engineering tools to support data processing and automation. • Support database and data warehouse migration initiatives, including migration to Snowflake. • Analyze existing data processes and identify opportunities for performance improvement, automation, and optimization. • Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, QA teams, and other technical teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions. • Lead technical discussions, code/design reviews, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution. • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and mid-level engineers. • Prepare technical documentation, implementation plans, technical specifications, and status updates. • Ensure solutions follow organizational standards for security, governance, data quality, and compliance. • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, estimation, and delivery tracking. Required Skills • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake. • Strong SQL development and troubleshooting skills. • Experience with Snowflake Streams, Tasks, Snowpipe, Stored Procedures, Time Travel, Zero-Copy Cloning, Resource Monitors, and Virtual Warehouses. • Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT, data modeling, and data integration. • Experience with Python for data processing and automation. • Experience working with DBT and modern cloud data platforms. • Strong understanding of Snowflake security, including RBAC, roles, users, data access controls, and data masking. • Experience with Snowflake performance tuning and cost optimization. • Experience integrating data from multiple sources and formats. • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. • Experience working in Agile development environments. • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills. • Ability to lead technical teams while remaining hands-on with development and implementation. Experience • 12+ years of overall IT experience with strong experience in data engineering, data warehousing, cloud data platforms, or related technologies. • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake and enterprise data solutions. • Prior experience in a technical lead or senior technical role is preferred.
