Job Title: SOAR & JIRA Development Engineer Location: - Raritan, NJ 08869 (Onsite position) Contract: 6+ months & Extendable Pay rate - $43/hr on W2/Danta Technologies payroll. SOAR & JIRA Development Engineer with strong Python, JavaScript/Groovy expertise and exposure to AI/ML for intelligent automation Job Summary • We are seeking a highly skilled SOAR & JIRA Development Engineer to design, develop, and optimize automation workflows across security and IT operations. This role focuses on building SOAR playbooks, integrating with JIRA for ticketing and workflow automation, and leveraging Python, JavaScript/Groovy for scripting and orchestration. • The ideal candidate will also have exposure to AI/ML technologies to enable intelligent automation such as alert prioritization, classification, and process optimization. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain SOAR playbooks and automation workflows • Integrate SOAR platforms with JIRA (Cloud/Data Center): • Automate ticket creation, updates, and lifecycle management • Enable bi-directional synchronization between incidents and tickets • Develop Python, JavaScript/Groovy -based scripts and integrations for automation and data processing • Build and maintain integrations using REST APIs across security and IT tools • Implement JIRA workflow customizations and automation rules to support operational processes • Apply AI/ML techniques or services to improve: • Alert triage and prioritization • Incident classification • Noise reduction and deduplication • Collaborate with Security Operations, DevOps, and IT teams to streamline incident response • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize automation performance • Document playbooks, workflows, and integration logic Required Skills & Qualifications • 3+ years of experience with SOAR platforms (e.g., Cortex XSOAR, Splunk SOAR, IBM Resilient) • Strong hands-on experience with: • SOAR playbook development • Python, JavaScript/Groovy scripting • Experience integrating SOAR with JIRA using REST APIs and automation rules • Good understanding of JIRA workflows and configurations • Experience working with RESTful APIs and system integrations • Solid understanding of cybersecurity operations: • Incident response • Threat intelligence • Alert triage • Basic to intermediate knowledge of AI/ML concepts and practical applications Preferred Qualifications • Experience customizing JIRA (workflows, automation rules, ScriptRunner, etc.) • Familiarity with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel) • Exposure to AI/ML frameworks or services (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, cloud AI APIs) • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) • Knowledge of DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines • Exposure to LLMs / Generative AI for automation use case Note: Danta offers competitive compensation to W2 employees.
