Role description
Title: Software Configuration Management (SCM) Specialist
Location: Dallas, TX 75202 (Hybrid- 2/3 days Onsite a week)
F2F Interview
Duration: 12 months/contract
Required Skills and Experience:
• 5+ years of Software Configuration Management experience in multiple tools including Gitlab
• Experience with Terraform and Ansible
• Understanding and working knowledge of containerization on Kubernetes/Open Shift
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and IBM Cloud
• Strong communication skills and a track record of cross-team collaboration
• Working knowledge of different SDLC Methodologies
• Understanding of various branching strategies including Gitflow and Gitlab Flow
• Experience configuring and managing Gitlab Runners, Groups, Projects, and Permissions at scale
• Ability to automate operational tasks and incident remediation
• Partner with application teams to onboard them onto Gitlab workflows and best practices
• Develop and maintain clear runbooks, wiki pages, and pipeline templates
• Implement policies and guardrails to ensure code quality, compliance, and security posture
• Troubleshoot and resolve CI/CD or migration-related incidents in a timely manner
• Available for 24/7 On-call support
Preferred:
• Jfrog Administration Experience a plus
• A BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience with good scripting/programming skills
• GitLab Certified Administrator
• Recent experience administering GitLab Self-Managed
• Prior software experience with build management, configuration management and/or quality testing
• Experience with SCM practices including Agile, continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD)
