Job Title: QA Automation Architect / Lead Job Location: Phoenix,AZ Local Candidates Only Job Id: 8737 Job Description:The State of Arizona seeks a QA Automation Architect/Lead to define and advance the automation and quality strategy for enterprise applications. This senior role is responsible for setting architecture, building automation frameworks (Java-based), integrating quality into CI/CD pipelines, and leading modernization toward AI-assisted, data-driven testing practices. The ideal candidate will mentor QA engineers, collaborate with DevOps and architecture teams, and deliver scalable, reliable automation solutions that support high-velocity, high-quality releases. Key Responsibilities: Define strategy, architecture, and standards for test automation (Java, Selenium, Cucumber). Embed automated quality gates, PR-level tests, and contract/API validation into CI/CD pipelines. Leverage AI/LLM tools for test generation, flake triage, and self-healing locators. Collaborate with architects to resolve systemic quality issues and reduce tech debt. Mentor QA engineers and enforce standards for maintainable, high-quality test code. Develop dashboards to measure coverage, pass/fail trends, flakiness, and MTTR. Tech Stack & Tools: Languages/Frameworks: Java, JUnit, Maven, Cucumber/Gherkin Automation: Selenium WebDriver (Playwright a plus) CI/CD & SCM: Jenkins, GitHub Actions Observability: Grafana dashboards Backend Context: Spring Boot, Oracle DB, FileNet Scripting: PowerShell or similar Qualifications: 10+ years in QA automation, including 5+ years architecting frameworks. Proven experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines. Strong leadership and mentoring background. Familiarity with AI-assisted testing and modern automation tooling preferred.
