Solutions Architect

Title: Google Retail Search (GRS) Architect Location: USA Experience: 10+ Years Type: Contract / Full-time (as applicable) Role Overview We are seeking a GRS Architect with deep expertise in Google Retail Search (GRS), Google AI, and GCP. The candidate will design and deliver scalable search and AI-driven solutions that power product discovery, personalization, and digital retail experiences. This role requires hands-on knowledge of enterprise search platforms (Elastic, Lucene, SOLR, etc.) and the ability to architect cloud-native, intelligent search systems for retail clients. Key Responsibilities • Architect and implement advanced search solutions leveraging Google Retail Search (GRS) and Google Cloud technologies. • Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to deliver scalable, intelligent search experiences for retail platforms. • Lead the design of AI-driven search personalization, recommendations, and discovery workflows. • Define and implement scalable, high-performance search architectures across large retail catalogs. • Integrate third-party or enterprise search technologies (Elastic, Lucene, SOLR) as needed. • Stay current with the latest Google AI, ML, and search innovation trends and advise on adoption. • Mentor teams and provide technical leadership on search & AI solutioning. Required Skills • 10+ years in enterprise architecture / solution architecture roles. • Proven expertise with Google Retail Search (GRS), Google AI, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). • Strong experience with search platforms – ElasticSearch, Lucene, SOLR. • Hands-on architecture & implementation of AI-powered search solutions in retail/e-commerce. • Solid understanding of search ranking, relevance tuning, NLP, recommendation systems. • Experience integrating search solutions with large-scale e-commerce or retail systems. • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills. Preferred Skills • Experience with BigQuery, Vertex AI, Dataflow, Pub/Sub (or other GCP data/AI services). • Knowledge of retail/e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Salesforce Commerce, Hybris, Magento). • Familiarity with microservices architectures and API-driven integrations. • Hands-on with AI/ML for personalization and product recommendation. • Cloud certifications (Google Cloud Professional Architect, Machine Learning Engineer, etc.).
