Job Title: Splunk DeveloperLocation: Riverwoods, IL (Chicago area) — Hybrid, 4 days onsite
Position Summary:We are seeking an experienced Splunk Developer to design, build, and optimize Splunk solutions that provide real-time visibility, alerting, and analytics across financial systems and operations. This role plays a key part in observability, security monitoring, and operational intelligence in a regulated financial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and optimize Splunk dashboards, searches, alerts, and reports.
Ingest and normalize data from diverse sources (logs, APIs, cloud services, applications).
Write efficient SPL queries and tune performance.
Build Splunk apps, add-ons, and data pipelines.
Support Splunk infrastructure (indexing, clustering, ingestion, retention).
Troubleshoot ingestion and performance issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights.
Maintain data quality, governance, and security compliance.
Required Skills & Experience:
3–5+ years of hands-on Splunk development/administration experience.
Strong SPL expertise and experience with Splunk architecture.
Proficiency with scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
Solid knowledge of Linux/Unix, networking, structured logging, and regex.
Experience in regulated environments (financial/banking preferred).
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred:
Splunk certifications (Admin, Developer).
Experience with Splunk ES, ITSI, SOAR.
Cloud logging (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerized environments.
Exposure to security use cases, big data, or observability tools.
