This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy delivering client and industry driven solutions through our 5 core specialist Practices; Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, IT Operations, Change & Transformation, and Risk, Regulation & Compliance.
FDM is seeking a Splunk Engineer located in Charlotte, NC to support a project in the finance sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 12 months but may be extended.
This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 3 days per week.
The candidate will be responsible for Splunk system architecture, data analytics, performance management, automation and some administration, for the Splunk deployments we manage across the enterprise. Good communication skills are needed to interact with technology and business groups, to gather requirements and deliver the solution.
β’ Develop and maintain automation tools for CI/CD workflows using Terraform, OpenShift, Bitbucket, and other tools.
β’ Collaborate with development teams to integrate automation tools into the software development lifecycle.
β’ Design and implement automation frameworks and processes to optimize software testing and deployment.
β’ Work with infrastructure teams to ensure automation tools are integrated with the appropriate infrastructure components.
β’ Identify and address technical issues with automation tools and processes.
β’ Develop and maintain documentation for automation tools and processes.
Required minimum qualifications:
β’ 5+ years expert-level Splunk Architect experience
β’ Well-versed with search head and indexer clustering topology
β’ Hands-on shell scripting and Linux/Windows system administration experience
β’ Some expertise in programming languages such as Java, Python and/or Windows scripts
β’ Thorough knowledge of regular expressions
β’ Strong debugging and analytical skills
β’ Good communication skills and tenaciousness to drive vendors, system admins and others to deliver solutions together
β’ Creative individual with a track record of working on and implementing innovative technology solutions
What sets you apart from other candidates:
β’ Experience with deployment tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, BladeLogic and/or AutoSys
β’ Experience working in a secure, multi-data center environment
β’ Experience with other monitoring tools
β’ BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or any quantitative discipline
β’ Splunk Enterprise Certified Administrator
β’ Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect
