Job Description: Insight Global is seeking a Splunk Engineer to support operational monitoring, log analysis, and observability for complex, high‑availability systems within a financial services environment. This individual will play a critical role in analyzing large volumes of log data across ATM software, middleware, and backend systems to improve system stability, performance, and reliability.
Job Responsibilities:
• Log Analysis & Diagnostics
• Perform deep log analysis across ATM software, middleware, and backend systems to identify failures, anomalies, and performance trends.
• Leverage centralized logging platforms (Splunk) to troubleshoot complex, multi‑system production issues.
• Develop and maintain Splunk queries, dashboards, and alerts to proactively detect emerging problems.
• Utilize log and event data to support root cause analysis, capacity planning, and platform stability improvements. Monitoring, Metrics & Observability
• Define, implement, and maintain operational metrics including availability, latency, error rates, and transaction success.
• Build real‑time and historical dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide visibility into system and ATM health.
• Partner closely with operations, engineering, and support teams to mature observability and reliability practices.
• Support incident response efforts by providing actionable insights and data‑driven troubleshooting guidance.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• 5-7 years of experience using Splunk for log analysis, dashboard creation, alerting, and troubleshooting.
• Strong experience working with large‑scale production systems and supporting issue resolution in real time.
• Solid understanding of logging, monitoring, and observability concepts across distributed systems.
• Experience defining meaningful operational metrics and SLIs/SLOs.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Experience supporting ATM platforms or working within financial services environments.
• Familiarity with CEN/XFS, ATM device drivers, or ATM middleware frameworks.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience, preferably with Oracle DB.
• Experience working with transaction‑based systems requiring high availability and reliability.
• Background in capacity planning or performance engineering.
Compensation:
$50/hr to $70/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
