Role Overview
The Software Engineer 3 – Data Engineer will support a large enterprise data platform responsible for delivering data across multiple domains. This role focuses on building and maintaining data pipelines, leveraging strong SQL and Python capabilities to move data between upstream systems and downstream consumers. This engineer will help expand team capacity, allowing senior leads to focus on next-generation initiatives, while ensuring reliable delivery of data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain data pipelines to move data between upstream applications and downstream consumers.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for large datasets.
• Use Python to support data processing, transformations, and automation.
• Assist with data modeling and data design efforts.
• Collaborate with team leads and engineers to execute on platform requirements.
• Support data persistence and platform needs, particularly within cloud-supported environments.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies and Agile delivery cycles.
• Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex data issues.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 5–8 years of Software/Data Engineering experience in enterprise environments.
Technical Skills:
• 6+ years of strong SQL experience, including working with large datasets and complex queries.
• Hands-on experience with Python for data processing or pipeline development.
• Experience working with large data volumes, including data modeling and data design.
• Ability to build and support data pipelines across upstream and downstream systems.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong problem-solving ability with the capacity to work independently with minimal oversight.
Preferred Qualifications
• 1–2 years of cloud experience, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience working with data platforms supporting multiple business domains.
• Strong initiative and ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tasks.
• Experience working alongside senior leads on architecture and design execution.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $58.00 and $62.00 per hour. A comprehensive benefits package is available to eligible employees. The contract duration is for 24 months, with a possibility of conversion.
