Deliverables
The day to day tasks, responsibilities, and deliverables for consultant include, but are not limited to the following:
β’ Work with development teams to understand full scope of applications and participate in the big picture design.
β’ Provide database design direction and work as a database design leader of a large, complex projects.
β’ Ensure adherence to database best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures.
β’ Promote database methodologies and standards. Ensure DB standards are followed through design reviews.
β’ Design and implement framework for automation of Database change (schema changes) deployments with the releases and integrate Database change deployments with CI/CD pipelines.
β’ Devise Strategy and Engage with Enterprise DBAs & Solution Architects, to define & execute Database strategy.
β’ Ensure that data strategies and architectures are in regulatory compliance
β’ Support and assist development team in the testing, tuning and implementation of database applications.
β’ Train & mentor Front End Database Developers and Oracle DBAs.
β’ Lead and administer Oracle in non-production environments.
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
Consultant shall possess 7+ years technical knowledge and experience with the following systems, platforms, applications skills:
β’ Deep technical experience working with relational database solutions (MS SQL Server 2019 and above).
β’ Significant experience with database design & data modeling, performance analysis, advanced query writing, optimization, and scripting.
β’ Significant experience in Software configuration process optimization, Pipeline Design, Build & Release Automation.
β’ Knowledge with TFS, Azure DevOps, Git, Liqubase, Jenkins and automation frameworks.
β’ Ability to automate Database Deployment functions and work extensively with DevOPS engineer to seamlessly incorporate database release into the software development CI/CD pipelines.
β’ Knowledge in Information Management Practice a plus
Preferred Skills:
The Consultant resource(s) shall possess most of the following skills:
β’ Experience with various industry standard project management methodologies (e.g.: Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall, etc.)
β’ Strong oral and written communication skills.
β’ Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze information identify and formulate solutions to problems.
β’ Provides more in-depth analysis with a high-level view of goals and end deliverables.
β’ Complete work within a reasonable time frame under the supervision of a manager or team lead.
β’ Plan and manage all aspects of the support function.
β’ Extensive knowledge of and proven experience with data processing systems, and methods of developing, testing and moving solutions to implementation.
β’ Strong knowledge in project management practices and ability to document processes and procedures as needed.
β’ Work collaboratively with other support team members and independently on assigned tasks and deliverables with minimum supervision
β’ Communicate effectively with users at all levels, from data entry technicians up to senior management, verbally and in writing.
β’ Self-motivated, working closely and actively communicating with person to accomplish time critical tasks and deliverables
β’ Ask questions and share information gained with other support team members, recording and documenting this knowledge
β’ Elicit and gather user requirements and/or problem description information, and record this information accurately
β’ Listen carefully and act upon user requirements
β’ Convey and explain complex problems and solutions in an understandable language to both technical and non-technical persons
β’ Present technical solutions to management and decision makers
