SQL Database Engineer

SQL Database Engineer Location: Remote Experience Level: Expert Engagement Type: Contract Role Overview We are seeking a SQL Database Engineer to support a data migration initiative. Key Responsibilities • Write optimized SQL queries for data loading, validation, and reconciliation • Analyze, cleanse, transform, and validate structured data before migration • Design and execute migration scripts and batch processes • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity post-migration • Troubleshoot migration failures and performance issues • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams during migration cycles • Document migration approach, mapping logic, and validation results • Lead data migration from flat files (Excel/CSV) into MariaDB databases hosted on AWS Mandatory Technical Skills • Strong hands-on experience with SQL • Experience working with MariaDB • Solid experience handling Excel and CSV data formats • Experience performing data migration projects • Intermediate knowledge of AWS (RDS, EC2, basic networking concepts) Preferred Skills • Experience with MySQL environments • Familiarity with AWS database services (RDS, backups, snapshots) • Understanding of data validation and reconciliation processes • Experience working with large datasets AWS Expertise Required • Expert-level experience • Comfortable working with AWS-hosted databases • Ability to manage database configurations and connectivity Ideal Candidate Profile • Strong SQL Programming skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy • Experience executing structured migration projects • Comfortable working independently in a remote setup
