Role description
Our client is looking to bring on a SQL DBA who will be a net new headcount for their growing Data Analytics division. What we are looking for is someone 5+ years of experience to come own their SQL Server environment, both on-prem and off-prem.
Our DBA environment is smaller, we will need someone who can help on either the development side running Level 2-3 SQL code or can assist in their Microsoft environment such as Active Directory, Windows Servers, O365, etc. Having someone that has experience on both the development DBA side is ideal.
Personality-wise we need someone who has a deeper level of understanding their day-to-day by knowing how they affect the business as well as someone who has a strong curiosity. People who look for things to do after getting their own day-to-day done are seen as going above and beyond and fit in well here. Additionally, we understand that this is different than most "IT shops" so speaking on them being comfortable picking up the phone, running root-cause-analysis, and having the "get stuff done" mindset will be important. When they speak about a "customer", they are talking about key stakeholders.
Top Skills:
β’ 5+ Years of SQL DBA experience (backups, recovery, security, designs, configurations)
β’ SQL coding (T-SQL, Queries, data mapping, data mining, ETL)
β’ User Meetings (customer interaction, "how does this affect the business", etc.)
β’ Azure
β’ Go-Getter
Pluses:
β’ Microsoft Infrastructure (Windows, O365, AD)
β’ Automation (Python, PowerShell, etc.)
Benefits:
Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k)
