Role Overview
This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data models and cloud-based data infrastructure to support enterprise applications and analytics. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in SQL development, Azure data services, and performance optimization, along with strong collaboration skills in an agile environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesDatabase Design & Optimization
β’ Design scalable data models and maintain database schemas
β’ Develop and optimize indexing strategies for performance
β’ Create and maintain complex SQL stored procedures
β’ Perform performance tuning and query optimization
Data Integration & Governance
β’ Manage data ingestion and export processes across systems
β’ Establish and enforce database governance policies
β’ Review and validate database work from other team members
β’ Maintain documentation, naming conventions, and access controls
Azure Cloud Engineering
β’ Integrate with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
β’ Manage Azure SQL databases for high availability and security
β’ Develop and manage Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines
β’ Implement data lake strategies for analytics and reporting
DevOps & Deployment
β’ Utilize SQL dacpac projects for database deployment/version control
β’ Manage deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps
β’ Coordinate production deployments and provide support
Collaboration & Support
β’ Work with cross-functional teams in an agile environment
β’ Provide mentorship and guidance on database best practices
β’ Monitor database performance and proactively address issues
β’ Stay current with industry trends and cloud technologies
Required Qualifications
β’ Proven experience as a SQL Developer or DBA
β’ Expertise in stored procedures and performance tuning
β’ Strong knowledge of Azure SQL, ADLS, and data lake integration
β’ Experience with Azure Data Factory and pipeline management
β’ Familiarity with database sharding concepts
β’ Proficiency with SQL dacpac projects and Azure DevOps
β’ Strong problem-solving and communication skills
β’ Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Microsoft Azure certification (any level)
