SQL Reporting Analyst

Title: SQL Reporting Analyst Location : Memphis, TN or McLean, VA Target Start Date : ASAP Type: contract Pay Rate: DOE We are seeking an Analyst, Reporting Applications to support the development of SQL-based reporting solutions. This role will focus on creating and validating data queries, designing ad hoc and recurring reports, and collaborating with business stakeholders to ensure reporting needs are met with accuracy and efficiency. Key Responsibilities • Support project management activities such as prioritizing tasks, leading status update calls, documenting meetings, and escalating issues when needed. • Design, develop, and test complex SQL queries and stored procedures to meet reporting requirements. • Create data models and meaningful views that improve reporting capabilities. • Analyze and validate queried data for accuracy and consistency. • Collaborate with business analysts and business owners to clarify requirements and ensure reports meet end-user needs. • Provide guidance on data mapping and help users understand data warehouse structures. • Troubleshoot and resolve reporting issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams. • Review existing queries and stored procedures, identifying and implementing performance improvements. • Identify ad hoc reports that should be converted into standardized, reusable reports. • Maintain and distribute scheduled reports for business stakeholders. • Perform additional reporting duties as assigned. Required Skills & Qualifications • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, multitasking, and time management capabilities. • Problem-solving ability with flexibility, professionalism, and integrity. • Self-starter with strong initiative, reliability, and adaptability. • Ability to manage multiple projects and critical tasks in a fast-paced environment. Minimum Requirements: • Degree in Computer Science or a related field. • Project Management Certification. • Two (2) years of experience developing complex SQL queries. • Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL Server (including SSIS). • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., vlookup, functions). Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with a Business Intelligence tool (e.g., Tableau, MicroStrategy, Power BI, CognosBI, Spotfire). • Knowledge of supply chain management concepts.
