Title: Sr AI/ML Engineer with Azure Open AI Experience Location: Remote Duration: 12-24+ Months Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced AI/ML Engineer to join our team as a key contributor in modernizing and accelerating software development within a commercial IT environment. This role will focus on embedding AI capabilities into legacy .NET applications and frameworks, streamlining processes, and transforming the way code is developed and delivered. This is a strategic role—ideal for someone who can lead innovation, drive modernization efforts, and partner with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and data science. The ideal candidate is a "unicorn": deeply experienced in AI/ML and software engineering, and capable of vetting and applying generative AI to real-world software challenges. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Key Responsibilities: • Lead the integration of AI/ML solutions into legacy .NET applications and commercial IT systems. • Modernize and accelerate development by embedding AI into software engineering workflows. • Collaborate closely with product managers, software engineers, and data scientists. • Pilot and scale AI-driven tools (e.g., chatbots, code assistants, ML-based analyzers). • Utilize Microsoft Azure (including Azure OpenAI) to deploy scalable, intelligent solutions. • Evaluate and vet AI capabilities for code generation, analysis, and optimization. • Help build tools that generate user stories and code from trained models. • Drive architectural and technical leadership for high-impact projects. • Design, build, maintain, and retire systems with AI-augmented lifecycle processes. • Leverage AI to improve operational efficiency in managing 300+ terminals and backend ETRM suite systems. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Must-Have Qualifications: • Strong hands-on experience with AI/ML technologies and frameworks. • Deep understanding of Microsoft Azure, especially Azure OpenAI. • Proven background in C#, .NET, and Azure DevOps integration. • Experience in building and deploying intelligent agents (e.g., Salesforce AI agents, chatbots). • Ability to partner across teams and lead modernization initiatives. • Track record of delivering complex projects in Commercial IT environments. • Knowledge of legacy codebases and experience modernizing large, monolithic systems. • Demonstrated ability to generate usable outputs and insights using AI. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Nice to Have: • Experience with Salesforce, especially in AI or automation contexts. • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and platforms. • Background in energy trading systems or large-scale backend model implementations.
