Role description
The Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer plays a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable cloud-native solutions using modern development practices and tools. This role focuses on leveraging JavaScript/TypeScript, NodeJS, Terraform, and AWS services to deliver robust infrastructure and application platforms that support personalized digital experiences.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design and implement cloud infrastructure using Terraform and other IaC tools to provision and manage AWS resources efficiently.
β’ Develop backend services and APIs using TypeScript/JavaScript and NodeJS, with a focus on serverless and event-driven architectures.
β’ Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployment, and infrastructure provisioning.
β’ Utilize AWS managed services (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, EventBridge, DynamoDB) to build scalable and resilient systems.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure and application development with business goals.
β’ Lead technical design discussions and mentor team members on best practices in cloud engineering and software development.
β’ Maintain and evolve infrastructure patterns and templates to support rapid development and deployment.
β’ Support cloud migrations and modernization efforts by refactoring legacy systems into cloud-native solutions.
β’ Ensure security, scalability, and reliability across all infrastructure components.
β’ Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to product planning and roadmap development.
Required Experience
β’ 5+ years of experience developing cloud-native applications and infrastructure using JavaScript/TypeScript and NodeJS
β’ Deep expertise in AWS services, especially serverless technologies (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudFront, DynamoDB, etc.).
β’ Strong proficiency in Terraform and other IaC tools (e.g., AWS CDK, CloudFormation).
β’ Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
β’ Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS/EKS).
β’ Solid understanding of networking, IAM, monitoring, and logging within AWS environments.
β’ Experience working in Agile development environments and using tools like JIRA.
β’ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues.
β’ Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
β’ AWS Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, Developer, DevOps Engineer).
β’ Experience with analytics and observability tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, etc.).
β’ Knowledge of event-driven and microservices architectures.
