The Planet Group has partnered with a Dallas area company to locate Senior Data Engineer to join a growing data team for a long-term contract position. Candidates must be willing to be onsite 3 days a week in our Dallas office. Due to the very high number of applicants, candidates must have a LinkedIn profile that clearly indicates they are within a 75 mile radius of the Dallas area. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize robust data pipelines and systems that support enterprise-scale analytics and business intelligence solutions. You’ll work with modern Azure data technologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and actionable. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to process large and complex datasets • Integrate data from diverse sources, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and quality • Build and manage data warehouses and data lakes to support reporting and analytics needs • Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes for efficient data ingestion and transformation • Enhance the performance of data processing and storage systems • Maintain thorough documentation for data workflows, pipelines, and architecture • Monitor data systems for reliability and troubleshoot issues as they arise • Stay current with emerging tools and technologies and make recommendations for improvements Required Skills and Experience: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field • 5+ years of experience in data engineering with strong proficiency in SQL and Python • 3+ years of hands-on experience with the following Azure technologies: • Azure SQL Database • Azure Data Factory (ADF) • Azure Databricks (key focus area) • Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) • Azure Functions, Key Vault, and Logic Apps • Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a distributed team environment Preferred: • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate • Databricks Certified Data Engineer (Associate or Professional) • Experience with .NET development is a plus Interested candidates must be local to the Dallas area and willing to be onsite 2-3 days a week.
