Job Summary: We are seeking a seasoned Data Governance Expert to design, implement, and operationalize an enterprise-wide data governance framework. . Required Skills and Qualifications: ∙ 15+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Architecture ∙ Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview ∙ Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Enterprise Data Analyst Associate ∙ Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure) ∙ Exposure to CI/CD and version control for data models ∙ Knowledge of metadata management and data governance tools ∙ Proven experience building governance components: metadata management, data classifications, master data governance, lineage & business glossary ∙ Strong understanding of data quality frameworks and tools ∙ Experience in policy development and governance operating models ∙ Hands-on experience with Python automation ∙ Solid understanding of data integration concepts and architectures ∙ Waste management or oil and gas domain knowledge . Responsibilities: ∙ Define and implement enterprise data governance strategy, standards, and operating model. ∙ Configure and manage Microsoft Purview for data discovery, cataloging, and governance. ∙ Establish governance processes covering metadata, master data, data quality, lineage, and stewardship. ∙ Integrate Purview with data platforms and source systems. ∙ Design and maintain metadata models and standards, classification taxonomies, master data governance models, lineage frameworks, and business glossary workflows. ∙ Define and implement data quality frameworks and metrics; embed data quality checks into pipelines; monitor issues and drive remediation. ∙ Develop and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures; support regulatory compliance and collaborate on data access, retention, and privacy. ∙ Work closely with data engineering, analytics, security, and business teams to ensure governance controls across cloud and on-prem data platforms. ∙ Develop Python-based automation for metadata ingestion, classification updates, lineage extraction, reporting, and workflow validation.
