Role description
Job Title: Sr. Cloud Services Engineer Job Type: Long Term Contract Location: Dallas, TX (Onsite) Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Cloud Engineer with strong experience in Terraform, GitHub, GitHub Copilot, Databricks, and Jenkins to design, build, automate, and support scalable cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will play a key role in cloud infrastructure engineering, CI/CD automation, data platform enablement, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities • Design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and highly available Azure cloud infrastructure. • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for Azure resources. • Build, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions. • Collaborate with development and data teams using GitHub for version control, branching strategies, and code reviews. • Leverage GitHub Copilot to improve development efficiency and code quality while following best practices. • Deploy, configure, and support Azure Databricks environments for data engineering and analytics workloads. • Integrate Databricks with Azure services such as ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL, Synapse, Event Hub, and Key Vault. • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud resources for performance, cost, and reliability. • Implement security best practices including RBAC, Managed Identities, network security, and secrets management. • Support multi-environment setups (Dev, QA, UAT, Prod) with automated provisioning and deployment. • Participate in architecture reviews, technical documentation, and knowledge sharing. Required Skills & Qualifications • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (Azure VMs, VNETs, Storage, App Services, Azure Functions, AKS is a plus). • Proven experience with Terraform for Azure infrastructure provisioning and state management. • Solid experience using GitHub (repos, PRs, branching, security scanning). • Working knowledge of GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted development practices. • Experience building and maintaining Jenkins pipelines for CI/CD automation. • Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, including clusters, notebooks, jobs, and integrations. • Strong understanding of DevOps / Cloud DevOps principles. • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights. • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python. • Understanding of cloud security, networking, and cost optimization. Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills • Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or other CI/CD tools. • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes (AKS). • Experience with data pipelines, Spark, Delta Lake, or data engineering concepts. • Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, DP-203, or similar).
