Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join the Finance and Regulatory Reporting Shared Services Delivery Squad within the Enterprise Data and Information Services (EDIS) team. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned data professional with a strong background in data mapping, modeling, and engineering practices, particularly in cloud-based environments. This role will focus on building and maintaining enterprise data pipelines to support regulatory reporting, analytics, and business intelligence needs.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Data Mapping Ownership: Lead data element attribution mapping from source systems to target data assets including data marts, integration layers, extracts, and point-to-point solutions.
β’ Documentation & Metadata Utilization: Provide detailed mapping documents including business rules, transformation logic, SQL, and derived column expressions.
β’ Translation of Business Requirements: Independently interpret and translate business requirements into technical deliverables and reusable datasets.
β’ Cross-functional Collaboration: Engage with developers, data architects, testers, business analysts, and SMEs to ensure clarity and accuracy in project execution.
β’ Peer Review & Mentorship: Perform code reviews and mentor junior analysts while contributing to mapping and data architecture review sessions.
β’ Modeling & SQL Development: Contribute to ER diagrams and data models, and utilize them to create efficient and scalable SQL queries.
β’ Technical Viability Assessment: Evaluate new and existing data solutions for performance and alignment with industry best practices.
β’ Auditability & Documentation: Create and enhance context diagrams to ensure data traceability and regulatory compliance.
β’ Risk Management Awareness: Understand and apply risk management practices relevant to financial institutions and datasets.
Requirements
β’ Education: Masterβs degree with 5+ years of experience, or Bachelorβs degree with 8+ years of experience in data analytics or equivalent military/work experience.
β’ Experience: Proven track record in data mapping, modeling, and data pipeline development.
β’ Skills:
β’ Strong SQL, Python, and SAS programming abilities.
β’ Expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially BigQuery.
β’ Experience with Ab Initio or Ab Initio SpecToGraph.
β’ Proficient in Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
β’ Other: Experience with data quality validation techniques, automation, and interpreting complex business data.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Previous experience working in regulated financial environments.
β’ Exposure to regulatory reporting and finance-related data flows.
β’ Experience leading data architecture initiatives or contributing to enterprise-level data governance.
