Job Title: Sr. Data Engineer – Cognos, Power BI Location: Remote Job Type: Contract Experience Level: Senior (8+ years preferred) Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Data Engineer with strong expertise in Cognos and Power BI to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, supporting, and optimizing reporting solutions while ensuring accuracy, performance, and timely delivery. This role requires hands-on experience in report creation, data modeling, troubleshooting, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver business insights. Key Responsibilities: • Cognos Report Development & Support: Maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot Cognos reports, dashboards, and data modules. • Power BI Reporting: Design, build, and support Power BI reports with advanced DAX calculations and data modeling. • AMS Incident & Enhancement Handling: Manage BAU support issues, resolve incidents, and implement minor enhancements within SLA timelines. • Data Integration & Validation: Work with diverse data sources, validate data accuracy, and ensure optimized performance of reports. • Cross-Platform Collaboration: Collaborate across Cognos and Power BI platforms, mentor junior developers, and ensure delivery quality. Qualifications & Skills: • 7+ years of experience in Cognos and Power BI report development and support. • Strong knowledge of DAX, data modeling, and performance optimization. • Experience in handling AMS support, incident resolution, and enhancements. • Solid understanding of ETL, SQL, and data validation techniques. • Strong problem-solving and communication skills with ability to work in a cross-functional environment. Nice to Have: • Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP). • Exposure to other BI or reporting tools. • Ability to lead small teams or mentor junior resources.
