Sr. Data Engineer
Greenwood Village, CO (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)
Long Term Contract on W2
Overview: This role supports two high visibility initiatives within our client's Network Evolution and Internet Product. The work produced by this team is reviewed by executive leadership, up to and including the CEO and the Board. Accuracy, reliability, and quality are critical.
The team’s mission is to design, optimize, and modernize data engineering and data architecture workflows that support reporting on construction progress, network readiness, and strategic milestones tied to our client's multiyear Network Evolution efforts.
We are looking for a Sr. Data Engineer to help lead the data engineering efforts for this team and to rearchitect their current ETL process.
Required Skills
• 7–10+ years of data engineering experience in enterprise environments.
• Expert level Python, especially in designing complex data workflows and moving large datasets.
• Significant experience in ETL architecture, reengineering legacy pipelines, and optimizing inefficient processes.
• Strong understanding of data architecture principles.
• Experience designing systems where high reliability and accuracy are mandatory.
• Strong SQL experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to lead engineering direction for the team.
Responsibilities
• Lead the full re-architecture of a mission critical ETL process
• Translate existing documentation into a durable, efficient, and futureproof data engineering solution.
• Build and optimize pipelines using Python as the primary language.
• Redesign data flows and data movement processes; create significantly more efficient processing paths.
• Develop scalable, modular architecture that eliminates single points of failure.
• Ensure all processes meet the standards required for executive level and board level reporting.
• Work in a tool agnostic environment; integrating SQL or Alteryx knowledge is a plus.
