Role Overview
β’ Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams to deliver automated data solutions.
β’ Manage end-to-end project delivery for data engineering initiatives.
β’ Design, build, and optimize scalable ETL pipelines and data models.
β’ Develop analytics and reporting solutions to support business goals.
β’ Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., SOX).
β’ Drive technical excellence and best practices within the team.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Lead projects from design through production, engaging stakeholders throughout.
β’ Design and implement automated data solutions for business units such as Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Accounting, and Finance.
β’ Build, manage, and optimize ETL pipelines from multiple data sources to data warehouse.
β’ Refine and develop data models (e.g., star schema) for efficient reporting and analytics.
β’ Write and optimize scripts, processes, and jobs for analytics and reporting.
β’ Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks in data processes.
β’ Stay current with data engineering trends, tools, and technologies.
β’ Reverse engineer existing solutions to identify and implement improvements.
β’ Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure SOX compliance for finance-related projects.
β’ Set and uphold high technical standards for the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
β’ 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
β’ Strong SQL skills; experience with relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Vertica).
β’ Hands-on experience with data warehousing and dimensional modeling.
β’ Expertise in ETL tools and pipelines (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, Airflow).
β’ Programming proficiency in Python, Java, or similar languages.
β’ Familiarity with distributed systems (e.g., Kafka, Spark).
β’ Knowledge of OLAP databases/tools (SSAS, Hyperion, Cognos).
β’ Experience with reporting/data visualization tools (SSRS, Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders.
β’ Background in Accounting, Finance, or Banking is a plus but not required.
