Sr. Data Scientist

Location: Remote - EDT/EST (US eastern time zone) Duration: 6 months + extensions/conversion to full time Requirements: • 5-7+ years in data science with hands-on experience building and enhancing ML models • Strong expertise in statistical / gap analysis, hypothesis testing, and model evaluation • Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL • Experience leveraging AI coding assistants (Claude Code preferred) • Experience working with data pipelines and large structured datasets • Strong problem-solving and communication skills Preferred Qualifications • Healthcare domain experience (nice to have, not required) • Experience working in GCP / BigQuery environments Overview A Fortune 10 healthcare customer is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to enhance and optimize an existing data pipeline focused on identifying high-quality healthcare providers across large populations. This role is heavily focused on statistical evaluation, identifying gaps in existing models, and improving accuracy and reliability in decision-making systems. This is an ideal opportunity for a data scientist who thrives in ambiguous environments, can independently diagnose issues within models, and drive meaningful improvements. Key Responsibilities • Evaluate and improve existing machine learning models used to identify high-quality providers • Perform deep statistical analysis to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and model breakdowns • Enhance model performance through robust statistical methodologies and validation techniques • Work with large-scale healthcare/claims datasets to derive actionable insights • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve business-critical problems • Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code) while validating outputs and ensuring accuracy • Build and refine data pipelines to support modeling and analytics workflows Compensation: $60-70/hr Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
