Sr. Data Scientist – AI Development

Akkodis is seeking a Sr. Data Scientist – AI Development for a W2 contract-to-hire position with a client in Chattanooga, TN. This is a hybrid position working 3 days a week onsite and we are seeking local candidates. • • • No Corp-to-Corp; No C2C; No Referrals from C2C • • • Rate Range: $85.00/hour to $90.00/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Responsibilities: This role will support AI development initiatives by designing, building, and implementing machine learning and AI solutions across the organization. The consultant will work across the full life cycle, including gathering requirements, data preparation, feature engineering, model development, testing, and deployment. Responsibilities include building predictive models, supporting generative AI and emerging AI use cases, developing internal AI-enabled applications, and partnering with business stakeholders to identify and implement use cases. The role will also support internal teams in developing self-service AI capabilities and provide recommendations on AI implementation best practices across Azure, AWS, and on-prem environments. Qualifications: • Senior-level expertise with typically 7–12+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or AI implementation within enterprise environments. • Demonstrated proficiency in Python and SQL, with a strong track record of building, deploying, and maintaining machine learning models in production. • Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms, along with solid foundations in statistical analysis and predictive modeling (e.g., regression, classification). • Skilled in using large-scale data processing tools such as Spark and Pandas. • Hybrid role requiring onsite presence 3 days per week in Chattanooga, TN.
