β’ Job Description:
Innovate to solve some of the worldβs most important challenges. As a Senior Database Engineer, you will support the design, deployment, and operation of advanced IT and OT solutions at a critical semiconductor manufacturing site in Richardson, Texas. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and optimize database technologies such as MS SQL and Oracle, driving digital transformation and operational excellence across manufacturing and business systems. This role will also lead the transition from legacy reporting systems to a modern data mart and data warehouse architecture, enabling advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making. The site is rapidly adopting AI-driven semiconductor automation, equipment integration, Fault Detection and Classification (FDC), and Advanced Process Control (APC) solutions. As a result, this position will deploy and support cutting-edge database platforms across all levels of manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide operational support for on-premises databases ranging from equipment and process-level systems to enterprise applications
Develop and deploy high-availability MS SQL database solutions supporting manufacturing applications (MES, SCADA, Historian)
Learn and support additional database technologies such as Oracle and DB2
Migrate legacy reporting systems to a modern data mart and data warehouse model
Design and implement advanced SQL procedures, views, and dynamic SSRS / Power BI reports, including dashboards, drill-downs, and multi-parameter formats
Practice Application Integrated Database Engineering, ensuring tight alignment between applications and databases
Create and maintain documentation and processes for database architecture, access control, security, migrations, and ServiceNow knowledge articles
Mentor team members on database best practices, query optimization, and effective usage
Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues across virtualized and physical database environments
Support migration from physical servers to virtualized database platforms where applicable
Collaborate with semiconductor process, equipment, and application vendors to improve performance and fault tolerance
Ensure 24x7 monitoring and auditing tools are implemented and actively used
Participate in operational calls and meetings to resolve application and database issues impacting manufacturing
Engage in daily tier meetings with factory systems and manufacturing operations teams
Partner with Corporate IT and Global Security teams to ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards
Required Qualifications (YOU MUST HAVE):
Bachelorβs Degree
5+ years of hands-on experience with MS SQL
5+ years of database tuning and performance optimization experience
5+ years using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
2+ years of PowerShell scripting experience
1+ year of experience with ServiceNow or a comparable IT service management platform
Strong experience in:

Experience with greenfield builds
Full SDLC experience including requirements, design, development, testing, and production support

Experience with data protection, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning
Hands-on support experience for IT/OT systems in manufacturing environments

Solid understanding of IT business processes and ITIL methodologies
Demonstrated ability to act as a change agent and drive organizational transformation

Software development experience with C#, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, Visual Studio, and web frameworks

Semiconductor front-end or back-end manufacturing environment experience
Background supporting manufacturing environments in software or engineering roles
Experience with legacy technologies such as VB, VB.NET, and ASP.NET
Experience developing interfaces between manufacturing systems and enterprise applications
Full SDLC knowledge including requirements analysis, design, development, and code reviews
