Job Title: Senior Database Engineer (Sr Database Administrator)

Position Overview
BEPC Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in MS SQL and Oracle to support a diverse and modern data environment.
The hiring manager is specifically looking for candidates with significant development and engineering ownership experience, not just maintenance or migration support. This role will support cutting-edge IT/OT solutions at a critical semiconductor manufacturing facility in Richardson, Texas.
This position will also play a key role in transitioning from legacy reporting systems to a modern data architecture, including data marts and warehouse models.
Key Responsibilities
Provide operational support for on-premises databases supporting manufacturing and enterprise applications.
Design and deploy high-availability MS SQL database solutions for manufacturing systems such as:
MES
SCADA
Historian platforms
Support additional database technologies (Oracle, DB2) as needed.
Lead migration from legacy reporting systems to a modern data mart/data warehouse architecture.
Develop advanced SQL procedures, views, and dynamic reports using:
SSRS
Power BI dashboards (drill-down, multi-parameter reporting)
Create and maintain documentation for database activities including:
Architecture
User access and termination
Database creation and migration
Security standards
ServiceNow knowledge articles
Troubleshoot performance issues across physical and virtualized workloads.
Partner with semiconductor equipment/application vendors to optimize database performance and fault tolerance.
Ensure 24x7 monitoring and auditing tools are implemented and utilized.
Participate in daily operational meetings with manufacturing and corporate teams.
Maintain compliance with corporate cybersecurity standards.
Must-Have Qualifications
Bachelorβs Degree (Required)
5+ years of hands-on experience with MS SQL
5+ years of database tuning experience
5+ years of SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
2+ years of PowerShell scripting
3+ years of SSRS development
2+ years of Power BI reporting
1+ year experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platform
Experience supporting IT/OT manufacturing systems (MES, SCADA, etc.)
Strong SDLC experience: requirements, design, coding, testing, production support
Proven ability to document infrastructure, automation scripts, and configurations
Preferred / Valued Skills
Advanced Degree in IT, Computer Science, or Engineering
Disaster recovery, business continuity, and data protection expertise
Strong ITIL methodology knowledge
Ability to manage critical outages and remediation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-driven and able to work with minimal oversight
Change-agent mindset, promoting positive transformation
