Greetings from IT Engagements Job Title: Sr. Database Administrator (NO H1B/ OPT)Location: Atlanta, GA (Must need local DL) Job Summary: Administer and support IBM DB2 databases on the z/OS mainframe platform Perform performance tuning to enhance database efficiency Collaborate with application teams for schema design and changes Oversee external DBA teams for software installation and ongoing support Monitor system health, availability, and proactively resolve issues Lead and participate in disaster recovery planning and testing Ensure security and compliance in database operations Project Details:The selected candidate will support infrastructure and production environments by managing and maintaining mainframe database platforms, ensuring high performance, availability, and resilience across systems. The role involves performance tuning, schema changes, collaboration with application teams, and disaster recovery planning. Must Haves: 8+ years of experience working with zDb2 Proficiency in IBM DB2 administration on z/OS mainframe Hands-on experience with SQL, DB2 partitioning, indexing, data sharing, and tuning Exposure to replication tools such as IIDR – IBM Infosphere Data Replication Suite Knowledge of data security best practices and compliance mandates Experience with IMS DB/DC and/or ADABAS is preferred (not mandatory) Desired Skills: Background in service-level management, change management, and incident resolution Ability to work closely with external DBA teams and infrastructure leads Relevant certifications in DB2 or mainframe database technologies Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience Thank you vinaya@itengagements.com Job Type: Contract Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Schedule: 8 hour shift Work Location: Hybrid remote in Atlanta, GA 30308
