Sr. Developer (GIS)

Our oil and gas client seeking a Senior Software Developer with experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This role requires strong backend and frontend development skills, with a focus on data-driven applications that integrate spatial and operational data. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on developer who can collaborate across technical and business teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions. Key Responsibilities • Maintain applications that support GIS and midstream business processes • Work with spatial and non-spatial data to build reliable, high-performance systems • Develop and optimize SQL Server databases, queries, stored procedures, and data integrations • Build and maintain web-based applications using JavaScript and modern frameworks • Collaborate with GIS analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical design sessions • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and data issues • Mentor junior developers and promote best practices in coding, testing, and documentation Required Qualifications • 5+ years of professional software development experience • Experience with GIS technologies or midstream oil & gas systems and workflows • Strong experience with SQL Server • Proficiency in JavaScript for frontend or full-stack development • Strong experience in at least one of the following languages: C#, Java, Python Preferred Qualifications • Hands-on experience with GIS platforms (e.g., Esri/ArcGIS, spatial databases, map services) • Background in the midstream energy industry
