Job Description
SR. DEVOPS ENGINEER
Hiring for a Sr. DevOps Engineer to join as a resource for one of our clients within the Telecommunications industry, sitting in Denver, CO, and working a hybrid onsite schedule. This team is actively in the process of integrating/merging multiple legacy and on-prem servers and operating systems (Linux) to their unified public cloud (AWS). This effort is already underway; therefore, this Engineer will step into a live initiative to help architect, scale, and stabilize the hybrid environments. Ideally, this Engineer would possess on-premise administration experience of Linux equipment along with Engineering or even architecting AWS cloud infrastructures and CI/CD pipelines to build efficient deployments of software upgrades and data processing for various stakeholders.
SR. DEVOPS ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS:
β’ Must possess prior and recent experience in Engineering/Architecting AWS cloud platforms as a Cloud Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or DevOps Engineer within a professional and ideally enterprise environment
β’ Proven expertise with AWS, particularly with AWS Core Services, such as but not limited all: EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud), ECS (Elastic Container Service), EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service), RDS (Relational Database Service), VPC (Virtual Private Cloud), IAM (Identity and Access Management), and S3
β’ Experienced in utilizing Python scripting skills for automation and orchestration responsibilities in recent roles
β’ Hands-on expertise with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code (IaC)
β’ Previous professional Linux systems administration experience or Linux Engineering background within the last 3 years
β’ Proficient in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, used for continuous deployments of newer software to drive bug fixes and overall application efficiency
β’ Ability to collaborate with architects and data engineering teams to guide infrastructure development and collaborate with internal stakeholders across teams
PLUS SKILLS:
β’ AWS Solutions Architect Certification or similar AWS Certifications that are currently active
β’ Prior experience as a Data Engineering Manager or in a similar technical leadership capacity that would have strong knowledge of data pipelines interacting and integrating with a cloud platform
SR. DEVOPS ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES:
β’ Engineer/Architect and manage hybrid infrastructure that integrates on-prem Linux systems with AWS cloud environments
β’ Write and maintain Python scripts for infrastructure automation and DevOps workflows
β’ Use Terraform to manage IaC deployments and AWS resource provisioning
β’ Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure infrastructure supports data pipeline scalability and performance
β’ Contribute to CI/CD strategy, pipeline development, and system automation
β’ Support overall cloud migration and modernization strategy as part of a broader network consolidation initiative
