Role description
Duration: 12 Months contract with possible extension
COMPANY / DEPARTMENT CULTURE:
β’ Candidates with significant development experience with modern UI/UX frameworks and strong development experience with python or java is mandatory. The candidate should have significant development experience on NodeJS based front end development frameworks like ReactJS/Angular, server-side coding using python and understanding of python web frameworks like Django/Fast API. The candidate is expected to write complex SQL reports and develop proof of concepts (POC) using JavaScript/Angular/Python and other modern software technologies. Working knowledge in AWS or other cloud platforms will be an added advantage.
β’ The Eligibility and Enrollment Member Management Project is a large project whose team brings significant experience. The team is a combination of state personnel, industry focused information technology professionals and experienced consultants. We are seeking individuals who are highly productive, very flexible, and can work effectively in an environment where ambiguity is common. Team members are expected to contribute with minimal supervision and be self-motivated. The project demands for individuals who are strong collaborators, who want to make a positive contribution to the State of South Carolina, can understand top-level goals and objectives, and drive toward them.

DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
β’ The software developer will serve as the on-site software developer for the MMS project. The resource should have extensive hands-on software development experience using either Python or Java/J2EE technologies, JavaScript, NodeJS, ReactJS or Angular, SQL/No-SQL databases, cloud platforms (AWS), Django/Fast API framework. The consultant will work with the teamβs business analysts, subject matter experts, Technical Lead, Quality Manager, system integrator and designated vendors as well as Enterprise Services team to meet the project goals.
β’ Design and document detailed technical design documents based on business and functional requirements.
β’ Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in computer science, Engineering, Technical Science or equivalent industry experience
β’ Minimum of five (5) years of technical experience with Python, JavaScript/Angular/ReactJS and JSON, Rest APIβs using Django/Fast API, SQL/No-SQL databases.
β’ Medicaid system project experience.
β’ Writing complex SQL queries.
β’ Experience on AWS.
β’ Experience with profiling and troubleshooting software defects and fixing them.
β’ Experience delivering in waterfall, scrum, agile, and other methodologies
PREFERRED SKILLS:
β’ Knowledge of healthcare insurance principles and processes
β’ Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) experience
β’ Experience on Django or similar python web frameworks.
β’ Any UI/UX certification.
β’ Development experience with any Rules Engines.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong cognitive ability especially with respect to understanding, documenting, and describing complex technical subjects to both technical and non- technical business users
β’ Excellent problem-solving skills
β’ Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting
