Role description
Sr. Natural Developer | Jackson, MS | Contract We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Natural/ADABAS Developer to join our support team dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the statewide Child Support System. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in Natural programming and ADABAS, with a focus on interfacing with multiple platforms and automating processes within a large-scale Linux environment. This role involves working on complex development projects that support critical government functions, requiring both technical expertise and a strong understanding of child support policies and mandates. Key Responsibilities • Design and develop Natural applications utilizing ADABAS to support the statewide Child Support System. • Execute Natural processes in batch using JCL and SCL, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. • Implement and troubleshoot online Natural processes within Linux-based systems. • Analyze system requirements and recommend technical enhancements to improve system performance and compliance. • Architect solutions for interfacing and integrating the child support system with other platforms and external systems. • Maintain comprehensive documentation of procedures, policies, and technical processes. • Provide training and end-user support for system users, including system administrators and non-technical staff. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the automation of current processes and upgrade outdated technologies. • Interpret and implement federal and state mandates related to child support in a Linux environment. • Contribute subject matter expertise on system architecture and integration strategies for large, complex IT systems. Required Qualifications • Minimum of 10 years of programming experience in Natural and utilization of ADABAS. • At least 2 years of experience working on large-scale Linux systems in a development or support capacity. • Proven experience running Natural processes via JCL and SCL in batch and online modes. • Strong knowledge of systems supporting child support operations and compliance with federal/state mandates. • Ability to interpret, design, and implement requirements based on federal and state policies within Linux systems such as METSS. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively document and present technical information. • Experience working independently and within teams, managing multiple projects simultaneously. • Familiarity with SCRUM/Agile methodologies and tools like Jira Software. • U.S. work authorization and ability to work fully onsite in Jackson, MS. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with automated child support systems and process improvements. • Prior experience in system analysis, design, and documentation of complex development projects. • Knowledge of modern technology trends related to legacy modernization and system migration. • Familiarity with federal regulations and mandates for child support programs. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop creative technical solutions.
